Drew DeSollar

My focus is on narration and visual design. I am interested in being hands on while working on a set as well as writing the stories powering a film.

Why I chose my degree

I chose this degree because I wanted my passion of film to be able to translate into a full time career. Going into college I was determined to use it as an opportunity to learn the most I could, so choosing the cinema department was an easy choice. I love the creative environment within the arts program as well as all the instructors and students in it.

What I've learned from my experience at M+D

Teamwork is crucial when producing projects as big as these. The more brain power, the better.

Plans after graduation

Start my own production company and use that as a platform to eventually create and work on films in the future.

Favorite quote

"Pick up a camera. Shoot something. No matter how small, no matter how cheesy, no matter whether your friends and your sister star in it. Put your name on it as director. Now you’re a director. Everything after that you’re just negotiating your budget and your fee."
– James Cameron
