Favorite M+D project and why?My favorite M+D project would probably have to be shooting for the University of Iowa Youth Ballet. I've done it twice now, and both times I ended up with the most beautiful and expressive photos.
InterestsWriting, photography, reading, playing guitar, watching obscure films, thrifting, eating sushi, and collaging.
Why I chose my degreeCreative writing, specifically in the form of short stories and prose, has been a passion of mine ever since my second grade teacher handed out composition books to the class and told us to think up a world and then to "write that world." My first short story centered upon a family of volatile cats-- but my writing has only developed from there, and of course, I hope to keep making progress.
My top strengthsCreative
What I've learned from my experience at M+DAnother creative passion of mine aside from writing is photography, and working at M+D has helped me as a photographer, not just from an artistic aspect but from a more fundamental perspective as well. I have also garnered skills when it comes to working with my peers and coworkers to create the best-possible output and final product.
Plans after graduationI would really like to move back to Chicago and try to work for NPR or do something with podcasting. I also think it would also be really cool to open up my own vintage/thrift store.
