After Class is the events hub site for the Division of Student Life. After Class leverages a website, weekly email newsletter, and social media efforts to make sure students know about your event. Recently, After Class has been integrated with the UI Events Calendar, to give your submission even more coverage on websites across campus.

Photography for Fall 2020
Portraits, staff photos, and communications/marketing-related photos are available to departments and student organizations within the Division of Student Life. Requests are subject to availability and must be communications or marketing-related, tied to a specific effort.
COVID-19 precautionary measuresAll photo requests will be facilitated outdoors unless there is a specific communications need for indoor photos that reflect current COVID-19 guidelines (aka masking).
These campus COVID-19 guidelines for imagery should also be considered/followed.
Photographers and subjects must follow campus guidelines for social distancing, masking, etc. Subjects may temporarily remove masks for individual photos only.
Event promotion: best practices
When promoting an event via web, social media, or email, there are some important steps to be aware of. Some of these are required by law, while others are just good practice and will help get people to your event. 1. Gather details for your eventDetails: event title, event description, location, time, date(s), contact information, admission cost, etc. "Join this event" URL for virtual events: include this URL for users to join your event. This can be a Zoom link or similar platform where users can join your event.Learn More
Remote video options
During the COVID-19 pandemic, there are several options for creating video messages to communicate with your audience. Keep in mind that we are all using technology to keep going in today's remote world, so allow extra time to prepare for, record, and upload your videos. We are all working together through technical difficulties and computer malfunctions etc, so don't be discouraged!
How to set up your shotLighting: use soft, diffuse light when possible: something with a lampshade or near a window (natural lighting is always best).
Angle: if possible, raise the camera to just below eye level.
